Get Involved

• To provide coverage at our PA PETS Thrift Store
• Covering various shifts during store hours (Tuesdays through Saturdays | Summer Schedule: Wednesdays through Saturdays in July and August) including greeting and assisting customers, handling sales, providing information and applications to potential PA PETS Clients interested in either PA PETS Spay/Neuter program.
  
  
• To help us prepare for and celebrate our 4 Annual Fund-raising events, including:
• Our Raise the Region On-line Fundraising campaign (Mid-March)
• Our PA PETS Yard Sale (Mid to late May)
• Our PA PETS Bingo Event (Mid-September)
• Our PA PETS Dinner/Auction (Early November)
  
  Volunteers are needed throughout the year to contact local businesses, organizations and individuals for donated goods, services, gift cards and baskets for our annual events. Volunteers are also needed to sell tickets for the events, to prepare food for sale at the Annual Bingo Event, and to set up and clean up at each event.
  
  
•  To provide ongoing (hands-on) support for our PA PETS TNR Program
• Storing, distributing and tracking our TNR Program’s loaner traps, and teaching new TNR clients how to trap and transport cats safely.
• Providing barn or warehouse locations (committing to provide shelter, daily feeding and water) for outside, feral cats that have been spayed/neutered and vaccinated and must be moved from unsafe locations.
• Occasionally assisting elderly or disabled TNR Clients who are unable to lift heavy traps, or to drive to/from the veterinary clinics.
• Occasionally providing foster care when no other foster resources are available for recuperating TNR’d cats,
• Donating (or collecting donated) items to support our TNR Clients (e.g. emergency cat food, working (live) box traps, large dog crates, food and water bowls and bedding (for recuperating or sick cats under medical treatment).
  
  
• To help us manage our PA PETS Facebook and Instagram pages and keep them updated weekly.

PA PETS ANNUAL BINGO EVENT

• This fundraising event usually occurs in Mid- to Late September each year at the Buckhorn Fire Company (19 Firehall Rd, Bloomsburg – adjacent to the Buckhorn Mall). 
  
  
• This year’s date is Sunday, September 13, 2026. 
  
  
• Tickets can be purchased prior to the event (CASH ONLY) at the PA PETS THRIFT STORE (203 E. 5 ^th Street, Bloomsburg) or at Martha’s Pet Supply (229 Montour Blvd), or at the door on the day of the event (cash only at both locations). Ticket sale dates will be announced on our PA PETS Facebook page.
  
  
• Volunteers are needed to contact local businesses, organizations and individuals for items for auction and for gift baskets, to assemble gift baskets for auction, to prepare food items for sale during the games, and to help set-up and clean-up after the event.
  

PA PETS DINNER / AUCTION 

• This annual fundraising event usually occurs in Early to Mid-November, and is a cozy evening of delicious food, open bar and exciting live and secret auctions to raise funds for both PA PETS Spay/Neuter Programs. 
  
  
• This year, our Dinner/Auction will be held on Friday evening, November 6, 2026
  
  
• The event will be held at The Barn at Boone’s Dam (737 W. Fort McClure Blvd, Bloomsburg – adjacent to the Bloomsburg Fair Grounds). 
  
  
• Volunteers are needed to contact local businesses, organizations and individuals for items for auction and baskets, to assemble gift baskets for auction, and for event set up and clean up.

FUTURE EVENTS

PA PETS Volunteers also participate and support the Annual Raise the Region online fundraising campaign in Mid-March and organize and support the Annual PA PETS Yard Sale in Mid- to late May.
